DIY Skin Care Face Masks
With all the stress, fear, lack of sun/fresh air and mask-wearing we’re all doing, your skin could use a break just as much as you. Here are a couple of skincare face masks to help revive every skin type after wearing your actual face mask.
Gather a tablespoon of greek yogurt, a teaspoon of oatmeal, and a teaspoon of honey. Mix it together, apply and leave on your face for 10 or 15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water! It’ll leave your face feeling soft and refreshed after a long day of worrying.
This one is fairly simple! Get some aloe vera (likely better if it’s pure, 100% aloe vera but the sunburn kind still works!) and some tea tree oil. You can put a nickel-sized or a quarter-sized amount of aloe vera in your hand, depending on how large of an area you plan to use the mask on, and then add one or two drops of tea tree oil. Don’t add too much, though, because it can dry out your skin and leave it sensitive.
Many people will try to dry out their faces using alcohol and other products that really just leave skin sensitive and produce more oils. Instead, try honey and brown sugar! Mix a tablespoon of each together to start and apply this scrub gently to your face. It’ll leave your skin soft and help combat the excess of naturally produced oils.
Bonus: Green Tea mask
This one will help your skin feel revived and new after a long day of watching the news and reading 27 different articles about how this is the rapture. Sit back and relax and apply this while watching something else, like all of the Marvel or Disney princess movies (or both, if you’re like me). Just grab a green tea bag, half teaspoon of baking soda, and a teaspoon of honey. Mix and apply, then sit back and block out the world for 10 minutes before gently rinsing with warm water.
